We sent our 13 first lines for the RAP AGAINST VIOLENCE

We will do the survey immediately after Easter. Our Easter holidays have already started so I won't see the students until Wednesday after Easter, April 14th. This also means that we cannot expect the rap to get really going until then.

We are planning to visit our partner school in Landskrona on Wednesday, April 28th. This is a return visit, they were in Copenhagen on Dec. 10th. So Kaj and I are looking forward to meeting Per and Annika again.

The Swedish film Evil (Ondskan) will première in Copenhagen just after Easter. It is available on DVD in Sweden,  with Scandinavian and English subtitles, as far as I can tell. I am not quite sure what it would be called in English, Evil seems the best bet. So far I cannot find any trace of it on www.Amazon.co.uk

We have completed the questionnaire.

We have been involved in a two week exchange with Liceo Farnesina. Also the
bullying questionnaire was carried out by our students and there was a good
response (148 returns)
In early may Costin will be visiting our school and later in the month
Zsusza and her headteacher will also be paying a visit to balerno

We are almost finished with the questionaires apart from the compilation.

We have finished with the short story/ writing own stories,poems, esseys and drawing  illustrations/.
Easter holidays are from 9th- 13th April so after this break we will deal with the film and the survey about bullying.
Rap ? of course,but in April.

We are almost finished with the questionaires apart from the compilation.

Easter holidays 07/04 - 18/04/04

We finished the survey and sent it off. The raps proved extremely difficult to get started! Finally I had to let the students write the rap texts together in class and then send them on. Only 2 out of 8 managed to send a copy to the teacher. I wonder whether these raps will ever get to the end of the line, and if they do, will we ever know?

I am afraid we have to opt out of the new tasks for the international groups. The school year is practically finished in Denmark, exams start next week.

Finally the really bad news: We have been informed by our national agency that our application for next year has not been approved, so we are facing another year as unofficial partners without Comenius money. We are feeling rather frustrated!

We have decided to share the work with the film "Bowling for Columbine"The film was very moving and thought- provoking ,so after a discussion in classes,each student was asked to write a short essey on the choosen question.

We finished the survey a week ago (our pupils took part in an exchange visit in France just before our Easter holidays). At the moment they're working on the results  which we're going to discuss within the next weeks. We hope that it won't be too difficult to make the international groups work on the tasks on the survey. We haven't heard anything about the raps so far.

We finished the survey and put it on the website as we did with the results from Scotland, Italy, Poland and Sindelfingen. We are discussing the results in class and we are forcing the students doing the tasks, Ferank and Agathe worked out. The work on the Rap seems to be difficult - I (Andreas) didn't get any copy of one yet.

We haven't heard about the approval of our next years project yet, but we have to passioned until summer (information of our national agency).

We will write down a final report of our work this year and we will send it to all partners (first week of June).

Two things happened:
- cultural exchange with the Vichy school ( they came at the end of April and we went in May, appr. 20 pupils with a French teacher)
- headmaster's visit (+ a small project meeting with two students) to Balerno High School

In May we were visited by a group of Hungarians from Budapest. The
headmaster, Laszlo Doba, Zsusza Paisz and her husband, Peter, and two
students. They visited the school and we were also able to do some
interesting site seeing.
All our students left scool about three weeks ago and have been sitting
national exams so the questionnaire on bullying was the last work they were
able to do.

Having no answer from international groups,we decided to write a rap of our own.Students worked in groups of four and....created 2 lyrics.I hope the glorious future is  before them.!Best wishes from Poland for all countries participating in the project .Have a nice holidays!
